"A retreat and workshop at Hummingbird has been one of the highlights of my past 2 summers. The downstairs room is deliciously cool on the hottest days, the food is fantastic, and Dennis and Leslie are warm and generous. An oasis!"

The Downstairs guestroom is a cheery yellow studio apartment, that stays deliciously cool in the heat of summer. It has a private entrance, a queen bed and twin day-bed, full bath and mini kitchen equipped with dishes, glasses and tableware for four, full set of pots and pans, a microwave, toaster oven and two-burner hot plate.(Full refrigerator/freezer is in the hall) There is a drop-leaf dining table in the room and another table right outside under the oak trees.
Comfortable lawn chairs and hammock under the shade of the upper deck complete accommodations that are perfect for longer stays. Breakfast is optional. A well behaved, quiet dog could sleep in the hall (extra charge), but no animals are allowed in the guest room.

A year after our stay at Hummingbird the memories of a very peaceful, serene, and totally engaging stay with Dennis and Leslie linger on. They were the perfect host/ess as they made themselves available for great conversation, fabulous breakfast on the deck overlooking the gardens, and guided us to hikes in the area.
